MULTI-FAMILY
Meridian @ Eisenhower
Alexandria, VA
SITUATION:
Meridian at Eisenhower was the result of $200 million apartment development project by the Paradigm Companies. The Meridian at Eisenhower, and its sister complex, Carlyle Place comprise 695 apartment units that were completed in 2007. Since 1983, Heartline has designed and implemented all of Paradigm’s property fitness centers. Over the years, the fitness center’s design has changed as well as the equipment mix. Since these complexes are next door to one another, Heartline’s challenge was to create a fitness experience that coincided with the theme of each building.
SOLUTION:
Since Meridian at Eisenhower was the larger of the two buildings, it was allocated a substantially larger club space. Given the room’s architectural design with a number of window cut-ins and entry and exit doors, it was decided to showcase the Star Trac cardiovascular equipment in the center of the room, with Paramount strength training machines flanking the perimeter. Since all ten (10) cardio units had 15” personal screen televisions, specifying the exact “floor” location of each combination dedicated electrical outlet and cable television “home run” was critical. Insuring the correct electrical placement and type of electrical circuit is always a top priority of any Heartline signature fitness center design. Finally, a dedicated 10’x 20’ free weight area of York rubber dumbbells, gym balls, medi-balls, and adjustable benches and abdominal crunches rounded out Meridian at Eisenhower’s new fitness complex.
