SITUATION:
Despite a steadily rising student population, Gloucester High School remains the only high school serving the entire 40,000 plus population of Gloucester County Virginia. To accommodate an increasing student body the high school has undergone multiple renovations to expand classroom and extracurricular capabilities. As the school expands so does the need to train an increasing number of students and student athletes.
SOLUTION:
With a limited budget, Heartline and Gloucester’s PE and athletics staff needed to make the most use out of the space provided to allow them to train as many students as possible during the same periods of time. By installing two of Heartline’s Dual CoreRack ™ training systems complete with custom platforms, coaches and teachers can train a majority of students at one time thus reducing down time for those left waiting for a machine. Each system is able to accommodate up to eight student/athletes at one time, and enabling student/athletes to perform all of their core lifts (benching, squatting, deadlifting, and power cleaning) in one station. In addition to the core training stations, Heartline installed a mix of BH and Matrix treadmills and steppers giving students the machines needed for a total cardio workout. With just a few new additions, Heartline was able to increase the weight room capacity allowing more students to train comfortably.
