SITUATION:
The Washington Center (TWC) for Internships and Academic Seminars has been a leader in experiential education since 1975, operating as an independent, non-profit organization providing an opportunity for students to work and learn in Washington D.C. for academic credit. With an ever growing student body, and limited on campus housing, over 40,000 alumni came together to donate money towards a new 6-story, 140,000 square foot housing project. TWC quickly tasked Paradigm Construction Co. to develop the building and off they went. The new building would contain 95 units and house nearly 348 students. In order to foster a healthy living environment and a state-of-the-art fitness center for for students to blow off steam.
SOLUTION:
Paradigm Companies and Heartline Fitness have continued to foster a successful and growing relationship throughout the years. Thus, when Paradigm was tasked with providing TWC a training room it was no surprise that they turned to Heartline to get the job done. After putting together an ideal layout, Heartline team members installed a full array of Matrix cardio equipment supplemented with a full line of Paramount dual-selectorized strength machines. Both Matrix and Paramount provide sleek, modern designs, and are built to withstand everyday use. For some extra pizzazz, each cardio unit came complete with integrated 15” LCD TVs allowing students to catch up on the news, sports, or favorite television shows while getting in their workout. To complete the health club feel, Heartline designed a free weight section along with gym balls, medi-balls, and stretching mats. Not only did students at TWC have a brand new dorm to call home, they now have an outstanding fitness center within steps that rivals any expensive health club out there.
