Shady Grove Hospital

SITUATION:
Shady Grove Adventist Hospital is a 293-bed acute care facility located in Rockville, MD. Opened in 1979, the hospital has since added a new four story patient tower, including private rooms – 48 for new moms and their babies – and a high tech surgery department for inpatients and outpatients. Shady Grove Adventist Hospital is part of Adventist HealthCare, an integrated health care delivery system that includes hospitals, home health agencies, nursing and rehabilitation centers, and other healthcare services. In an attempt to keep up with the growing health and wellness demands of the Washington metropolitan area, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, has continued to invest in the hospital’s wellness and rehabilitation facilities.
SOLUTION:
Together with hospital management and the wellness center’s director, Heartline developed a master plan to renovate and upgrade the facility in 2008--including a new layout and equipment upgrades and additions. This plan calls for overhauling the hospital’s entire wellness center with new Star Trac treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and strength training equipment. Phase one of this plan involved delivery of new treadmills. The hospital plans on finalizing this installation in 2010.
