Ryan Johnson, M.Ed., CSCS, Coach Practitioner, MN NSCA Advisory Board

RJ is the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Wayzata Public Schools as well as the Director of Player Development for Wayzata High School Football. In addition to teaching physical education classes and coaching football he coordinates all athletic strength and conditioning programs for the high school. He is also in charge of the summer Trojan Power Program, the Trojans summer strength and conditioning camp for 7-12 grade WHS students; the program is conducted at 3 sites with a staff of 25 instructors and draws over 650 attendees each summer. The Trojans have won 13 Team State Championships in his time at Wayzata doubling up in Fall State Championships in both 2005 (Football and Boys Soccer) and 2008 (Football and Boys Cross Country). In recent years the Wayzata High School program has produced: Ben Hamilton - Denver Broncos, Marion Barber III – Dallas Cowboys, Dominic Barber – Houston Texans, and 3 time Ohio St All-American James Laurinaitis – now with the St Louis Rams. In addition to the great athletes, the Trojan Power Program has also produced several individuals that have gone on to intern and become professionals in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Ryan is a regular contributor to the magazine Training & Conditioning on the subject of High School Strength and Conditioning; as well as its sister publication Coaching Management and has been published in the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Journal. He is a sought after clinician and speaker as well. In 2009 he was selected to coach in the “Texas vs. The Nation” College All Star Football Game in El Paso, TX. .
