Robert F. Burgess, Jr, President/CEO
Board Member since 1995
bob@heartlinefitness.com
Together with two business partners, Bob Burgess acquired Heartline Fitness in 1995, and was named president of the company upon its acquisition. Once purchased, Bob and his team began a difficult four-year overhaul of the company--from removing non-productive assets to licensing new product technology to conceiving and implementing an entirely new business model and strategy. A model built on customer service, developing and providing great fitness products, and supporting those
products with great maintenance and delivery personnel. From 1983 to 1995, Bob was Managing Director of Growth Strategies, Ltd., and Stanley Foster Reed & Associates. Both management consulting firms specialized in a variety of strategic planning, business development, and mergers and acquisitions advisory services for companies in the Fortune 1000. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from Florida State University, and has completed graduate Accounting and Taxation course work from American University’s Kogod School of Business. Bob Burgess is a contributing author of the best selling business book “The Art of M&A: A Merger, Acquisition and Buyout Guide,” now in its fourth edition.
